Worst five minutes....

I've been aiming to post every day but I didn't manage it last night. I did have a good reason though. I was feeding my daughter, looked down and realised that the area around her right eye had completely swelled up and she could barely see out of it. I was eating a peanut butter cookie at the time so immediately thought it was an allergic reaction to the peanut butter. I panicked and burst into tears, rang my uncle who said he was on his way, rang my mum who said to clean it and ring the nhs helpline. My uncle turned up, rang them, and we ended up taking her to a walk in clinic. They said it was probably just an eye infection, not an allergic reaction, and gave me some antibacterial eye drops. They said that if it was an allergic reaction then it would be gone by this morning. I used the drops on her last night, and put her to bed, by that time it was already going down. By this morning, the swelling has pretty much disappeared, so I'm not sure whether it really is an eye infection or if it was an allergic reaction. I'm still going to keep cleaning it and using the eye drops just in case though. Obviously it wasn't really an reaction to the peanut butter or it would have been a lot worse, but it could still be a reaction to something, and there were a few minutes where I was completely terrified. I think that was the most scared that I've been so far, I really hope it doesn't happen again.

Lazy Day

This has been our theme tune for today. Felt so tired after we got home yesterday (after the bus incident) that we ended up falling asleep on the sofa for an hour. Today we fell asleep on my bed as well. Had such a busy few days, that it's been nice to just not really do anything today but watch tv and play. It would be good to maybe do some more baking but I've still got a ton of cookies to get through, and my daughter can't even have any cos they have peanut butter in. Bad mummy.

This song is making me happy at the moment as well.

Boundaries

Today was generally pretty good. We went into town, went to Starbucks with my Dad and brother, walked with them to the train station to say goodbye. Daughter cried when they left, although she cheered up once I put her in the sling and we walked around town. We went for lunch at Debenhams and then did some shopping. Got some denim shorts from H&M for my daughter, and some denim shorts from New Look from me. Wanted some from H&M as it's my favourite shop but the only pair I liked didn't look good on me. No pictures of shorts, we fell asleep on the sofa for an hour when we got in, and then it was too dark to take pictures. Will try for some tomorrow.

However, the bus ride home wasn't so great, which is where the title comes in. I was sat on the bus, with my daughter on my front in the sling. She seemed pretty happy and was just talking to herself so I was sat looking out the window. I turn back round, look at her and realise that she suddenly has a wotsit (type of crisp) in her mouth. She can't have picked it up off the seat as she can't reach when she's in the sling.
I realise that the woman sat behind us must have given it to her when I wasn't looking and not said anything to me. I could freak out, and take the crisp off my daughter but then she'd probably get upset. I decide that it's not worth getting her upset, as I don't think there's anything too bad in the crisp, although my daughter does have severe eczema so I'm generally very careful about what she does eat. I let her eat the crisp, and carry on looking out the window, but then notice that the woman behind me is again offering my daughter the packet of crisps, again without saying anything to me or asking if it's alright for her to have one. Being ever so slightly passive agressive, I decide to not say anything, angle my body away from the woman and lean forward a little so that my daughter can't reach the crisps. I spent the rest of the journey (and this evening, to be honest) feeling really angry about it. Ok, so maybe the woman was just trying to be nice, but who thinks it's acceptable to give a little 16 month old baby (or any age child) food without asking the parent first? What if she was really allergic to one of the ingredients? Maybe I should have been watching my daughter the entire time, but she was in the sling, she was safe and happy, I thought I could take my eyes off her for a few seconds without something like that happening. Maybe I can be a little overprotective, but this incident hasn't made me change my mind.

Fun Day Out

I was going to post this last night, but was too tired. We went out into town yesterday which was fun.
We got the bus into town, it was way too cold stood at the bus stop.

Mummy and daughter on the swings.

Daughter enjoying herself.

Love this photo.

Then we went to a cafe. Dad being weird.
Grandad and granddaughter.
We had a cooked breakfast for lunch. Vegetarian breakfast only though please, no meat here.
Then we went to another cafe, we like cafes, and I had one of my favourite drinks.
Daughter decided to throw her play money around.
When we got home, I baked some peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. They turned out alright, but should have been soft and chewy, instead they were crunchy. Think I may have baked them for too long.

Not a terribly exciting post, but we had fun.

Domestic Goddess?

My charger is working but still making a funny noise so I've bought a replacement. Was planning on taking lots of photos today as we went into town shopping but didn't manage it. I did however make tea for me, my daughter, my dad and my brother.

Pizza with courgettes and mushrooms.
Courgettes sauteed with garlic.

Chocolate dipped strawberries.

Trouble

Woke up in a good mood, decided to take a picture. Camera batteries need charging so go to put them all in the charger and there's one missing. Also, charger light was flashing red for less than a second and then going off. Think I've managed to get the charger to work but the light goes off if I put a battery on one side, and now it's making a funny noise. Think it might need replacing. How am I meant to have a blog with no pictures? Technology fail. Not in a good mood anymore, need my morning latte to cheer me up. Caramel or gingerbread?

A New Beginning

So I'm Lucie (Inna), I'm 23 and I'm a single mum living in England. I have very busy days and quiet days, mainly quiet. I enjoy spending time with my daughter, but I also like fashion and being online so I was hoping to combine them in this blog. I'm normally a little bit useless at remembering important stuff and taking pictures so hopefully this will be a good record for the future. I enjoy having quiet days at home, watching videos on youtube, playing music, playing games and dancing in the kitchen, but I also like to have days out, shopping, people watching, going to cafes and walking around. I like reading other people's blogs online and seeing how they live their lives and what they get up to. Hope you enjoy this one too :)
